BACKGROUND
Chris Honnery is a Sydney-based barrister experienced in court and tribunal advocacy. Chris’ practice spans administrative law, migration law, regulatory law, civil litigation, and complex statutory interpretation cases.
Chris is also an interstate member of the Victorian Bar and appears in matters across Australia.
Before being called to the Bar, Chris was a solicitor at Victoria Legal Aid, worked at the Federal Court of Australia, and represented asylum seekers on Nauru.
Chris also passed the England and Wales Bar Transfer Test in 2020, having previously worked at London firm Hickman and Rose solicitors and international media law organisation Article 19.
